Sometimes a book comes along that is so profoundly simple it is simply profound.
Roberto Trotta's small but mighty book, The Edge of the Sky: All You Need to Know About the All-There-Is - pared back writing that uses less than 1,000 of the most common words in English to describe things like dark matter and multiverses through clever metaphors - is such a book.
In fact, if you want to catch a glimpse of the universe and its complexities, this is the book to start with... Dr. Trotto (who happens to be quite the handsome young fellow, I might add!) has created something completely accessible and entertaining
This book? It's now in my top 10 all-time list.
Love it.
An excellent review on the book can be found here: The Edge of the Sky.
**********
When I read stuff like this, it doesn't detract from my spiritual bent on all things universe; it reinforces it. The sky's a big place, a big space. And that's only what we can see (so far) - and through to its end reaches, what might be found, I wonder?
To be sentient, to be aware, to be conscious, is such an amazing gift. We are so very beholden to this universe we abide within, we truly are.
